Blues secured a well earned point at Burnley in the PDL.

In their last match before Wednesday's FA Youth Cup Fifth Round tie at Wigan Athletic, they again made light of difficult conditions.

Having won 1-0 on a quagmire of a Crewe Alexandra pitch the week before, the elements were the problem this time.

Blues went ahead through Remi Walker's long-distance strike in the 21st minute, but were pegged back after the interval.

Coach Paul Robinson commented: "The boys were good again.

"Going to Burnley, you know what they will be like. They were physical, the wind was very bad - worse than at Wast Hills, which is saying something!

"I felt we should have won the game. We should have seen it out better, especially with the set piece where their goal came from. Could we have stopped the lead up to the foul? Yes. Could we have stopped the set-piece itself? Yes.

"There are all learning curves for the boys. But they gave a very good account of themselves and, as I mentioned, the wind had a big effect on it. You were kicking the ball one end it was coming straight back at you."

As for Walker's goal, Robinson said: "Great finish from Remi. That was with the wind, so it helped. We said that when we have the wind behind us, get shots away and on target because the ball is going to move in the air and cause problems for the goalkeeper. Remi did. I remember shouting to him 'Remi, get your shots away'. The next time he got it he moved it half-a-yard to the right and whipped it into the top corner. So he listens to his coach - which is pleasing. We didn't do it enough, though."

Blues are now eight unbeaten in league and cup. Ideal for the trip to PDL North leaders Wigan in the FA Youth Cup.

Robinson: "They are taking everything on board each cycle we are working on or each training session. What we are trying to get out of them and what we are trying to achieve. Saturday was no different. It was a good, positive performance from the boys."
