Blues staff take on 12-hour charity hike for local schools

Staff at Birmingham City FC are swapping their football boots for more comfortable footwear, as a team of 15 take to the Birmingham streets, walking a 12-hour, 36-mile route that detours past 50 local schools.

Starting out from St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium at 6am on Friday 23 April, the gruelling hike will raise funds for the Community Trust to deliver two hours of free coaching and PE lessons in the 50 schools on the route.

The Club’s health and wellbeing ambassadors, Smart Meds, are supporting the campaign with a large donation towards the in-school delivery, as well as assisting the Club to host education sessions on diet and lifestyle in the schools en route.

From the stadium, the team will head through Tyseley and Moseley, into Hall Green and Acocks Green before looping around Stetchford and back into Small Heath, veering through many other areas of the city on the way. A full list of schools that make up the route can be found below.
