Blues Women Await Conti Cup Draw

Blues Women will discover their FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup opponents this week.

The draw for the Conti Cup group stage is scheduled to take place on Friday 30 July, 1.15pm, and will be broadcast live on talkSPORT 2, as well as streamed on the radio station’s YouTube channel.

Blues enter as one of 12 clubs in the Southern section and will be placed in either Group C, D or E, allocated on the order in which the teams are drawn.

This means that Scott Booth and his players can be pitted against any of the other 11 sides joining the competition at this juncture from the South.

These clubs are:

  • Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Bristol City
  • Charlton Athletic
  • Coventry United
  • Crystal Palace
  • Lewes
  • London City Lionesses
  • Reading
  • Tottenham Hotspur
  • Watford
  • West Ham United

Groups A and B will be filled by the nine participants in the Cup’s Northern section.

These Clubs are:

  • Blackburn
  • Aston Villa
  • Durham
  • Everton
  • Leicester
  • Liverpool
  • Manchester United
  • Sheffield United
  • Sunderland

Round dates for the group stage are as follows:

  • 13/14 October 2021
  • 3/4 November 2021 (only for Group A which has an extra team)
  • 17/18 November 2021
  • 4/5 December 2021 (only for Group A which has an extra team)
  • 15/16 December 2021

In a change to the Cup’s format this season, the three clubs that have qualified for the UEFA Women’s Champions League will enter after the group stage unless eliminated from the competition during Round 1 or 2. Should that happen, they will enter the Cup Competition at the Group Stage and be drawn in an existing group of four Clubs in the appropriate geographical grouping in accordance with Cup Rule 15.3.
