Jade Pennock Pens Blues Deal

Blues Women are delighted to announce the signing of Jade Pennock.

Pennock, 28, joins Blues after agreeing terms on a one-year contract with a year option in the West Midlands and is the first arrival since Scott Booth was appointed as the Club’s new Head Coach.

The winger, who was most recently at Sheffield United, was subject to interest from a number of clubs but has chosen the Blue half of the Second City as her destination of choice.

During three years with the Blades, Pennock made 67 appearances and scored 29 goals after joining United at the start of the FA Women’s Championship era in July 2018.

Speaking after the deal was concluded, she said:

"I'm glad to finally get it all sorted and excited to get going,

"For me, it is the challenge of playing at the next level. I've wanted to do it for a while and that's what attracted me to the Club. I just want to get going and do well.

"As a player, I want to help the team as much as I can whether that be with assists or goals. It will be a challenge but I think it is one I am ready for - I don't shy away from hard work."

On the books of Leeds United as a youngster, Pennock moved to the United States of America at the age of 17, undertaking her studies alongside playing for Montevallo Falcons and North Georgia Nighthawks in her senior year.

In Georgia, she built upon her success at the Falcons, where she had been awarded freshman of the year, by being named in the all American 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America Team.

After a two-year period coaching in the U.S., Pennock scored 14 times in a short spell at Harrogate Town before joining Doncaster Belles. There, further individual and collective success followed as she scored the goal that secured Belles the WSL 2 title in 2018.

The Steel City then came calling and in her first season with the Blades, Pennock was decorated with the Player of the Year, Player's Player of the Year and Manager's Player of the year awards.

She was then a part of sides that finished second and fourth in the FA Women’s Championship, ahead of seeking a fresh challenge at the culmination of the 2020/21 campaign and choosing to sign for Blues.

Welcome to the Club, Jade!
