The 17-year-old boasts a long-standing association with Blues and has agreed terms on a two-year contract that will officially take effect following her 18th birthday in September.
A defender, who typically operates at right full-back, Simkin made her debut in the 2019/20 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season against Brighton & Hove Albion at the age of 16.
This is one of six senior appearances to date to Blues and follows an impressive progression through the ranks. Simkin was initially part of the FA’s Wildcats programme before joining Blues at the age of ten and moving from the Regional Talent Club programme to Academy football.
She was then brought into the First Team fold on a full-time basis last summer but has seen further game opportunities limited due to injury.
Having extended her stay in the Second City, Simkin said:
“I am really excited, this Club is basically my home now. I have been here since I was really young and I can't wait to get started. It's a proud moment for me and my family.
"My main aim is just to be the inspiration for all the other girls at the RTC and show that you can make it all the way through at this Club.
"I am excited for the fans to come back, it has been a long time without them. We see their support on social media and we miss them."
