Update: Swansea City

The Club has issued the following update in relation to the ongoing remedial works to the Kop and Tilton stands.

Since our last communication, we have made encouraging progress on the Upper Kop stand and believe we are nearing a return to spectators.

Presently, we would not be in a position to open this area of the stadium in time for our clash with Swansea City on Saturday 23 October. However, there is a possibility that the remaining repairs will be completed in the coming days, and we would be able to welcome supporters back for our fixture against the Swans.

Whilst this remains a possibility, the Club will be doing all we can to put the relevant safety checks and operational processes in place to allow for a safe return.

Given the nature of the remaining work, we will not have a definitive answer until later this week but want to allow for every chance that we can reopen to supporters.

We understand this uncertainty is not ideal for fans to plan their matchday, but we feel it is necessary to communicate this now, to give you as much notice as possible.

Despite the Club working towards this updated timeframe, there remains essential remedial work to be completed, which must be supported by the relevant safety checks and local authority approval.

For this reason, we will continue to issue reallocated tickets to season card holders in the Upper Kop and issue the sale of 1,700 match tickets, as we have done for previous home fixtures.

However, should the remedial work be approved in time for the Swansea City game, the reallocated tickets will be cancelled, and season cards will be activated to work as normal. The Club will then go on general sale with all remaining seats, with pay-on-the-day available, increasing our capacity to approximately 19,000.

The Club will be putting provisions in place over the coming days to ensure we are able to open the Upper Kop at short notice.

We are organising all the relevant personnel to staff the Upper Kop kiosks and safely steward the stands, as well as readying all the operational procedures that are carried out behind the scenes.

The Club will issue a further update in advance of our Sky Bet Championship fixture with Swansea City on Saturday 23 October.

We thank you for your patience and continued support.
